TONIGHT:

The Ontario Reign (9-6-0-2) face the Colorado Eagles (9-4-0-0) in the first match between these two clubs this season. Ontario went 6-1-1-0 against Colorado in the 2013-14 season, and the Reign hold a lifetime 7-4-1-0 record against the Eagles at the Budweiser Events Center. The Eagles have played the fewest games of any Pacific Division team, but currently hold third place seeding in the division, and currently have more wins over their last ten games than any other team in the division.

ROAD TRIP WORKING FOR ROACH:"¨

Defenseman Alex Roach has performed well over the first six games of the recent road trip. The primary defensive blueliner recorded a career-high three assists on Thursday and is +3 over the length of the road trip.

SPURGEON STREAKING:"¨

After receiving credit for the opening power-play goal on Thursday, Tyler Spurgeon is in the midst of a three-game point streak (1g-2a). His return to the lineup has been a welcome addition after missing several games in October and November, including all five home games played thus far.

SPECIAL TEAMS THRIVING: "¨

Since the beginning of the season-high nine-game road trip, Ontario has only surrendered one goal on sixteen shorthanded chances for a 93.8 percent penalty kill efficiency for sixth in the ECHL. This bodes well for Ontario, as the Eagles have only managed to convert on 13.8 percent of their power-play opportunities, good for only 21st in the league."¨"¨

Meanwhile, the Reign finally struck on the power-play on Saturday, getting two power-play goals on three chances. Ontario has the eighth-ranked man advantage in the league, while the Eagles have also struggled on the PK, as their 80.7 percent rating is only ranked 20th.
