Evansville IceMen News Release

CINCINNATI, OH.- Down 3-1 with less than eight minutes on the clock, the Evansville IceMen rallied with four goals in the third to beat the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-3. Matt Lowry netted the game winner with just 11.7 seconds left on the clock as the IceMen picked up their first road win of the season.

The IceMen struck first. With under three minutes to go in the first period, Kevin Harvey brought the puck into the offensive zone for Evansville. Harvey passed to the newcomer, Jim McKenzie down low. McKenzie found Jarret Lukin on a cross-crease feed. Lukin potted his fifth of the season to put the IceMen up 1-0 heading into the first intermission.

In the second period, the Cyclones responded. Christiaan Minella and Byron Froese both scored for the Cyclones as they took a 2-1 lead into the second break.

Cincinnati added to its lead early in the third. Josh Shalla found the net to put the Cyclones up 3-1.

As the scoreboard ticked under the eight minute mark, Evansville fired back. Just ten seconds into a power play, Andre Bouvet-Morrissette deflected a Myles Bell slapshot past Rob Madore to cut the Cyclone lead to 3-2. Patrick Kennedy picked up the assist on Morrissette's third of the year.

Exactly three minutes later, Guy Lepine blasted a shot that Madore stopped. As the rebound hung around the crease, Harvey found it and smoked a shot past Madore. The IceMen tied the game as Harvey celebrated his fourth goal of the year.

With overtime just 12 seconds away, Matt Lowry stole the puck in the offensive zone. The assistant captain rocketed the puck underneath the cross bar to give the IceMen a 4-3 lead. Lowry's second of the year proved to be the game winner.

The Cyclones pulled Madore to try and get a last second strike, but Morrissette fired a shot into the empty net with four seconds left on the clock to secure a 5-3 win. Morrissette now has four goals in his last two games.

Chris Driedger made 23 saves as he moved to 4-5-0-1. Harvey, Kennedy, Lepine, Morrissette, and McKenzie all had multi-point games for the IceMen as they jumped to fourth place in the North Division with 15 points (7-7-0-1).

The IceMen will continue their Thanksgiving road trip as they meet the Elmira Jackals in a black Friday contest in New York. They will wrap up their road trip on Saturday night against Elmira.
