PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers played to a 1-1 draw against Los Angeles FC at Providence Park on Sunday night. Jeremy Ebobisse recorded his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the match.
Ebobisse Against LAFC
Ebobisse scored the fourth goal of his career against LAFC in league play, which is tied for the second-most goals by a single player against LAFC. Only one player (Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 8 goals) has scored more goals against LAFC. Ebobisse's four goals are the most by a player in the all-time series.
Assist Men
Felipe Mora notched his second assist of the season, while Yimmi Chara recorded his fourth assist of the campaign. Mora is the ninth player to record multiple assists for the Timbers in 2020. Notably, Chara has three assists in his last three matches.
Goal-Scoring Plays
POR - Jeremy Ebobisse (Felipe Mora, Yimmi Chara), 47th minute: Yimmi Chara dribbled down the left side and played a cross to Mora at the top of the box. Mora spun and played a quick pass to Ebobisse, who fired a powerful strike from just inside the box past LAFC goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega.
LAFC - Christian Torres (Kwadwo Opoku, Eddie Segura), 90+3: Kwadwo Opoku received a pass at the top of the box and laid the ball off for Christian Torres, who fired a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal.
