EAGLES EDGE THUNDER IN FINAL GAME OF 2003- Scott Swanson and Brad Patterson scored goals 1:05 apart, breaking a 1-1 second period tie and leading Colorado to a 3-2 New Year's Eve victory. Travis Clayton scored both goals for the Thunder, who were outshot 23-16. The loss moved Wichita's all-time New Year's Eve record to 8-4-0.

THUNDER BEAT TULSA AT HOME AGAIN- Trevor Allman broke a 2-2 third period tie with a breakaway goal, then added an empty-netter, giving the Thunder a 4-2 win over Tulsa on Saturday. Adam Calder and Jeff Leiter also added goals for the Thunder, who finished the season a perfect 5-0-0 at home versus Tulsa. It was the first time in their 12-year history that Wichita did not lose a home game to Tulsa. Nathan Grobins made 28 saves, picking up his eighth Thunder victory of the season and moving his overall record to an impressive 13-8-2.

INJURY REPORT- Ryan McLean, out since December 20th, will return to the Thunder lineup tomorrow. Defenseman Peter Runkel, out since December 7th, is still questionable to return this week. Goaltender Matt Carney returned to the lineup on Friday, after missing all of December.

DENIKE WINS ECHL GAME, HEADS TO AHL- Thunder goaltender Terry Denike made 33 saves, leading the shorthanded Reading Royals to a 2-1 ECHL victory over the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday. Denike was re-assigned by the Los Angeles Kings to Reading on Thursday. Denike was then called up to the AHL's Manchester Monarchs yesterday.

MILESTONES- Veteran Travis Clayton is closing in on three more milestones. The all-time leading scorer in Thunder history, Clayton has 198 career goals, 298 career assists and 496 career points. Forward Jeff Leiter, who scored his first goal of the season on Friday, is now just 15 penalty minutes shy of Sean O'Reilly's all-time franchise record of 926.

THUNDERBOLTS- Wichita is still second in the CHL, allowing just 28.82 shots per game...The Thunder power play unit has moved up to seventh in the CHL, at 15.3%...The Thunder are 9-0-1 when leading after two periods...Rookie Ryan Olynyk still leads the CHL with 18 major penalties...Anders Strome leads all CHL rookies with 28 points...Rookie Darryl Green is now eighth among CHL defensemen, with 22 points...Rookie Les Hrapchak has seven points in his last six games...The Thunder start a six-game road trip on Thursday.
