Defenseman Landmesser Chosen as All-Star Reserve

SOUTHAVEN, Miss – The two-time defending CHL champion Memphis RiverKings are pleased to announce that assistant captain Derek Landmesser has been named as an all-star reserve by Northern Conference coach Scott Muscutt and the CHL's Hockey Operations department.

Landmesser, a defenseman for the RiverKings, is fourth on the team in points scored this season with 29 (3G, 26A). The former CHL Defensive Player of the Year has also accrued 49 penalty minutes throughout the course of the season, while posting a plus/minus rating of +8.

Landmesser will join team captain Don Parsons at the 2004 Dodge CHL All-Star Game in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Parsons, making his fourth consecutive CHL All-Star Game performance, was voted to the Northern Conference starting lineup last week.

The two all-star selections from the RiverKings' roster is tied for third-most in the league. Division leaders Bossier-Shreveport and Colorado lead all Northern Conference with three selections apiece.

Also voted to the all-star reserves was former RiverKings goaltender Nathan Grobins. Grobins, who is currently playing for the Wichita Thunder of the Northwest Division, has posted a 13-8-2 record this season, with a .926 save percentage and a 2.34 goals against average with both Wichita and Memphis.

The RiverKings will be in action next Thursday night at 7:05 pm at the DeSoto Civic Center, as they take on the Wichita Thunder. The game marks the first of three contests on three consecutive nights for the RiverKings, who will host New Mexico on Friday night before traveling to Fort Worth on Saturday.
