Three Standouts to Represent the Bandits at the MWL All-Star Game
June 8, 2010 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
The River Bandits will send three of their top performers to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the 2010 Midwest League All-Star Game set for Tuesday, June 22. First baseman Matt Adams, outfielder D'Marcus Ingram and pitcher Eric Fornataro are slated to represent the River Bandits at the mid-summer classic.
D'Marcus Ingram is currently in a holding pattern with an 11-game hitting streak. Ingram, the River Bandits hottest hitter, was placed on the disabled list after injuring his hand during the series with the Great Lakes Loons. He is hitting .333 with three home runs and 28 RBI through 47 games. Ingram was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 25th round of the 2006 June draft.
Adams has hit .271 through 56 games with seven home runs, tying him for the team lead, and 30 RBI. Adams was a 23rd round pick of the Cardinals last June. Fornataro was selected after posting a 5-4 record to compliment his 3.84 ERA through 12 starts. He has logged 61 innings and walked 20 while striking out 45. The Cardinals picked Fornataro in the 6th round in the '08 June draft.
The field managers nominated players from each of their rosters and then voted on those nominated to determine the rosters for each division.
