
Kernels Put Seven on MWL West All-Star Team

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Midwest League announced the rosters for the 2010 MWL Summer All-Star Classic, scheduled for June 22nd at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, IN, and the Cedar Rapids Kernels had seven players selected to the team. The All-Stars were nominated and selected by the feld managers of the 16 MWL teams.
Mike Trout was named the starting center felder for the MWL West team and was the only Kernel selected as a starter. Six Kernels were selected as reserves: 2B Jean Segura, 1B/DH Casey Haerther, RHP Fabio Martinez, RHP Garrett Richards, RHP Jeremy Berg, and LHP Tyler Skaggs.
The Kernels had the most players selected of the 16 teams in the league. Great Lakes led the East with two starters and six players overall, followed by Peoria, Great Lakes, Lansing and Lake County with fve players. Wisconsin and Beloit each have two starters on the West team.
The 2010 MWL All-Star Summer Classic, hosted by the Fort Wayne TinCaps, is June 21st and 22nd, with the game played on June 22. Tickets are available by contacting the Fort Wayne TinCaps at www.tincaps.com or by calling (260) 482-6400.
