
Gregorius Leads Dragons to 5-2 Win

Dayton, Ohio - Didi Gregorius' two-out, two-run triple broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning and the Dayton Dragons went on to defeat the Beloit Snappers 5-2 on Tuesday night in the opener to a nine-game road trip for the Dragons. The win was the Dragons third in the last four games.
Gregorius led a 10-hit Dragons attack by going 3 for 5 with a run scored and two runs batted in. Josh Garton added two hits including an RBI triple for the Dragons. Frank Pfister also had two hits including a double.
Dragons starting pitcher Ricky Bowen tossed five scoreless innings in a spot starting assignment. He allowed just two hits and no walks while striking out six. Junior Martinez allowed both Beloit runs in the sixth inning but was credited with the win. Both runs against Martinez were unearned. Jason Braun pitched a scoreless seventh and Chase Ware worked the final two innings to earn his fourth save. Ware extended his string of consecutive scoreless innings to 20 and one-third.
Dayton (24-34) will play at Beloit again on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. J.C. Sulbaran (3-3, 4.98) will start for Dayton. The next home game is Friday, June 18th against the Great Lakes Loons at Fifth Third Field.
