
Three Redbirds land on All-Star team

Memphis, Tenn. - The Pacific Coast League announced the roster for the 2005 All-Star game in Sacramento on Thursday.
Memphis will have three representatives in the game. Memphis starters Chris Gissell and Kevin Jarvis will join outfielder Raul Gonzalez in Sacramento on July 12 for the All-Star game between the PCL and the International League.
Gissell currently leads the league in strikeouts and is third in the league with his 2.58 ERA. His six wins also ties him for the team lead in wins. Jarvis is 5-2 on the season and claims the fourth best ERA in the PCL with his 2.64 ERA. Gonzalez has been an offensive bright spot on a team that has struggled at the plate. He is currently fifth in the league in batting average with a .343 average.
The 2005 Triple-A All-Star game will be televised on ESPN2 on July 12.
