TODAY'S OPPONENT: The Iowa Cubs are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1998. Last year they were 79-64, first in the PCL Central. They beat Oklahoma three games to two in the first round of the PCL playoffs and were swept by Sacramento in the PCL finals.

TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks continue their four-game series with Iowa . The RedHawks are on a season-long eight-game losing streak. It is the longest losing streak by the RedHawks since a club-record, nine-game losing streak June 9-18, 2000. The RedHawks are 4-6 on Thursdays.

STANDINGS: The RedHawks are in second place, two games behind Albuquerque .

LAST GAME: Iowa scored seven runs in the sixth inning and beat the RedHawks 13-6. Chris Richard went two-for-four with a home run and two RBIs for Oklahoma .

VS. IOWA: The RedHawks are 10-4 in Iowa the last two seasons and 22-24 there since moving to the PCL in 1998. The last two years against Iowa , Jason Conti is 23-for-76 [.303] with nine RBIs in 20 games. Chad Allen was 13-for-34 [.382] with eight RBIs in eight games against them the last two years. Last year the RedHawks hit 14 home runs in eight games at Iowa . They have already hit eight in six games so far this season.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Oklahoma's Ryan Snare makes his third start this season. In two starts he is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA [4ER, 9.1IP]. He was the last RedHawk starter to earn a win, June 13 against Omaha . John Koronka starts for Iowa . He was 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in five appearances, two starts against Oklahoma last season.

STREAKERS: Outfielder Rashad Eldridge is on an 11-game hitting streak dating back to June 12. During the streak, Eldridge is 19-for-40 [.475] with five RBIs. He has six two-hit games and a three-hit game during the streak. He also had one of Oklahoma 's three hits June 16.

IAN KINSLER: In his last 27 games, all from the No. 2 spot in the lineup, Ian Kinsler is 38-for-112 [.339] at the plate with seven doubles, a triple, six home runs [65 total bases], 27 RBIs, 10 walks and 12 strikeouts. In his first 39 games, he batted .226 with nine doubles, eight home runs [68 total bases], 28RBIs, 11 walks and 32 strikeouts. Current batting average: .275.

BOTTOM'S UP: The last eight games, the 7-8-9 batters are a combined 31-for-86 [.360] with 17 RBIs, eight doubles and two home runs. The 17 RBIs represents 40 percent [17-of-42] of the runs batted in by the RedHawks the last eight games.

LOSING STREAKS: This is the RedHawks' longest losing streak since they lost nine in a row June 9-18, 2000 . During that streak, they lost the last eight games of a 12-game road trip to Salt Lake and Albuquerque and then lost the first game of the next homestand to Fresno , the first game of a doubleheader that lasted eight innings. Oklahoma won the second game of the doubleheader to snap the losing streak. Last year, the RedHawks longest losing streak was four, three times. Their last four-game losing streak of 2004 was June 10-13, a four game sweep by Iowa at SBC Bricktown Ballpark.

DOT-DOT-DOTS: RedHawks Esteban German and Ian Kinsler were slected to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team and will play in the Triple-A All-Star Game July 13 in Sacramento , Calif. ... Manager Bobby Jones was named a coach for the World team for the XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game July 10 in Detroit. He will also been the Pacific Coast League hitting coach for the Triple-A All-Star Game ... During the eight-game losing streak, the RedHawks have committed 11 errors, leading to nine unearned runs. Their opponents have committed seven errors the last eight games ... The RedHawks have left 64 men on base, 35 in scoring position during the losing streak. Oklahoma is 22-for-77 [.286] with men in scoring position during that span.
