COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -The Pacific Coast League (PCL) today has announced the 2005 Triple-A All-Star team to compete against the International League's All-Stars in the 18th Annual Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 13th at Raley Field in Sacramento, California.

Tucson will be represented by four individuals, Pitching Coach Mike Parrott, starting first baseman Conor Jackson and second baseman Andy Green, and reserve pitcher Jason Bulger. Jackson is leading the League in hitting with a .383 average and has 54 RBI.
Tacoma's Felix Hernandez (8-4, 2.32) has been elected as the starting pitcher with Memphis' Chris Gissell (6-5, 2.57), Portland's Brad Baker (20 saves), and Iowa's Jermaine Van Buren (1.82, 9 saves) filling the remaining elected pitcher spots. League leaders in home runs, Josh Willingham (19), runs batted in, Mike Cervenak (59), and stolen bases, Adrian Brown (23), join average leader, Jackson, to bring a solid offense to combat the strong IL pitching staff.
The Pacific Coast League All-Star team is made up of at least one player from every club being selected by club field personnel, media representatives, and League administrators.
The first Triple-A All-Star Game was held in 1988 when National League affiliated teams would compete against American League affiliated teams. This format was followed until 1998 when it was changed to have the PCL All-Stars compete against the IL All-Stars.
Since 1998, the PCL has competed against the IL in the Triple-A mid-summer classic. The PCL is 4-3, winning four straight from 1999 through 2002. Last year the PCL were defeated by the IL in Pawtucket 4-3 with a walk-off homer in the 10th inning by Andy Phillips of the Columbus Clippers.
The 2005 Triple-A All-Star Game will be televised live on ESPN2 and can be heard on each team's local radio stations and the American Forces Radio.
