Thrashers Send Gamache to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned left wing Simon Gamache to the Chicago Wolves.

Gamache notched his first National Hockey League point with an assist in two games with the Thrashers after being recalled on Nov. 1. Prior to his stint in Atlanta, the 22-year-old forward registered six points (3G, 3A) in eight games with the Wolves.

Overall, the Thetford Mines, Quebec, native has posted one assist and two penalty minutes in four NHL games with Atlanta, which includes his NHL debut last season on March 7 against the Florida Panthers.

Gamache has notched 40 goals, 49 assists and 89 points in 109 AHL games with the Wolves spanning the last three seasons (2001-02 to 2003-04). His team-best 35 goals last year tied for third in the AHL.
