P-Bruins Coming off Unbeaten Weekend

The Providence Bruins begin the week in third place in the Atlantic Division, with their 6-4-3-0 record (15 points), one point behind the second place Manchester Monarchs. The Bruins are coming off a strong weekend in which they were 2-0-1-0 in three games. They defeated the Lowell Lock Monsters at home on Friday, 4-3, before tying the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on home ice the next night, 1-1. The weekend concluded in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania on Sunday in a 1-0 Bruin victory.

The Bruins will play three games this weekend, including one on home ice on Friday, November 14 at 7:05 p.m., when they host the Portland Pirates. They visit the Hartford Wolf Pack on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m., before wrapping up the weekend in Philadelphia on Sunday at 6:05 p.m., when they take on the Phantoms.

Friday's game will kick off the Bruins' Thanksgiving Food Drive. The Bruins' wives and girlfriends will be collecting non-perishable food items in the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office lobby from 5:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. All food items collected will be donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Food items will also be collected at the Bruins' games on Friday, November 21 and Wednesday, November 26. Both games get underway at 7:05 p.m.

Bruin goaltender Tim Thomas was nominated for the Sher-Wood AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 9. Thomas was 2-0-0 in two starts, including his second shutout of the season, a 33-save effort in a 1-0 victory on Sunday at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Both of his shutouts this season have been in 1-0 games on the road. Thomas is 3-2-2 on the season with a 2.09 GAA and .938 save percentage. His shutout total ties him for the league lead.

The Bruins and Phantoms meet for the first time since the 2001-02 season...The Phantoms are 5-6-1-1, putting them in sixth place in the East Division...RW Kirby Law leads the team and is tied for seventh in the AHL with 4-9-13 totals...C P.J. Stock, who was loaned by the Bruins to the Phantoms for C Andre Savage on October 29, has two assists and 30 PIM in four games...G Neil Little is 3-3-0 with a 1.83 GAA and .931 save percentage.
