
Veteran Defense Leads The Way For Syracuse

The Crunch's defensemen enter this weeks games with a combined 2,414 professional games under their belts. Anders Eriksson (573 games played) and Trent Cull (563) lead the way for Syracuse with a combined 19 years of professional experience. Eriksson began his pro career in 1995-96, appearing in 75 games with the Adirondack Red Wings (AHL) and one contest with Detroit (NHL). Cull broke in with the St. John's Maple Leafs during the 1994-95, appearing in 43 games. Zenith Komarniski - 334, Todd Rohloff â 320, Darrel Scoville â 297, Paul Traynor â 256, Pauli Levokari â 58 and Aaron Johnson â 13 round out the Crunch's defensemen.
NEDOROST RETURNED TO CRUNCH: Left wing Andrej Nedorost made his season debut for the Crunch on Saturday night @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton after beginning the season in Columbus. In nine games with the Blue Jackets this season, Nedorost recorded two goals and six penalty minutes. A native of Trencin, Slovakia, Nedorost has appeared in 101 career games with Syracuse, recording 19 goals, 32 assists and 113 penalty minutes. He was selected by Columbus with their 10th pick, 286th overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft.
POWER PLAY REMAINS TOP IN AHL: The Crunch's power play unit (26.2%, 16-for-61) remains atop of the American Hockey League after a 2-for-6 performance this weekend. In addition to their league best 26.2% rate, the Crunch lead the AHL with 16 power play goals.

Hess Autograph Signings: On Friday, November 14, Tyler Sloan and Karl Goehring will be on hand at Hess on 7th North Street from 4-6 p.m. and Tim Jackman and Mike Pandolfo will be at Hess located on the corner of Henry Clay and Taft Road from 4-6 p.m. to sign autographs.

Bob Evans Brunch With The Crunch: On Sunday, November 16, Mark Hartigan, Darrel Scoville, Trent Cull, Jeremy Reich and Joe Motzko will be at Bob Evans in Liverpool on 7th North Street at 11 a.m. Fans will be able to eat breakfast with their favorite Crunch players and receive autographs. The cost for the breakfast is $10, which includes bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, coffee, orange juice and a Crunch tickets voucher. Tickets for the breakfast can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444.

THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
BINGHAMTON (OTTAWA SENATORS): Syracuse travels to Binghamton on Monday, November 10 for the second of eight regular season meetings. Syracuse leads the series 1-0 after defeating the Senators 3-2 on October 25 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Center Mark Hartigan leads all players with two points (2a). Several Senators players are tied with one point each. Karl Goehring posted the win for Syracuse, making 30 saves. Senators goaltender Billy Thompson stopped 29 shots in the loss. Lifetime, the Crunch are 3-5-1 against the Senators.
CINCINNATI (MIGHTY DUCKS OF ANAHEIM): The Crunch host the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks on Saturday, November 15 for the final of two regular season meetings. The team's tied 2-2 in their first meeting on November 1. Defenseman Mike Mottau (2a) and center Tony Martensson (2a) lead all players with two points. Several Crunch players are tied at one point each. Karl Goehring appeared in net for Syracuse, recording 30 saves. Eddy Ferhi appeared in net for Cincinnati, recording 27 saves. Lifetime, Syracuse is 10-19-4 against Cincinnati.
NATIONWIDE INSURANCE COLUMBUS UPDATE: The Blue Jackets are currently fourth in the Central Division with 11 points (5-7-0-1), two points behind Detroit. Former Crunch player Jody Shelley recorded two goals, including his first power play goal, on Sunday, November 9 helping Columbus defeat Calgary 4-3. There are currently six players on the Columbus roster that have appeared in a Crunch jersey (Jody Shelley, Kent McDonell, Duvie Westcott, Derrick Walser, David Ling and Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre).
INJURY UPDATE: Defenseman Trent Cull is expected to miss four to six weeks with a broken foot that he suffered on October 28. Cull has missed six games with the injury... Defenseman Paul Traynor is listed as day-to-day with a bruised foot that he suffered on October 29 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Traynor has missed five games with the injury.
CRUNCHABLES: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton out shot Syracuse 83-41 in their home-and-home series this past weekend. The Penguins wound up 1-for-17 on the power play while the Crunch finished 2-for-6... Left wing Brandon Sugden's 27 penalty minutes on Saturday night @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is a team high this season... Center Donald MacLean enters this week on a four-game point scoring streak (2g, 3a)... Syracuse has been outscored 20-7 in the third period this season, including 16-5 in road games.
