THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS...

The ROCHESTER AMERICANS (Buffalo) are 2nd in the North Division with a 10-7-4-2 record and 26 points. One point ahead of St. John's... This will be the first of four games at Mile One Stadium for Rochester this season. The Americans will also visit St. John's on March 16 & 17... Rochester is coming off a 3-1win at Manitoba. The Amerks are 2-5-2-2 on the road this season... The team is ranked 22nd in the AHL with the manadvantage at a 12.2% success rate and are 4th overall while killing penalties at 90.3%... Right-winger Jason Pominville is second in the league in powerplay goals (7) and third in powerplay points (11)... This will be the first meeting of the season between both teams as they battle for second spot in the North Division.

The BINGHAMTON SENATORS (Ottawa) are 4th in the East Division with 26 points and have an 11-9-2-2 record... The Senators are winless in their last two games... Binghamton has a 3-6-1-0 record in their last 10 games and are 4-5-1-0 on the road this season... The Sens are ranked 13th with the man-advantage at 14.7% and are 25th when killing penalties at 82.5%... Left-winger Denis Hamel leads the Senators with 20 points (11G,9A) in 24 games... Goaltender Ray Emery has an 8-7-2 record, a 2.39 GAA and a .917 save percentage in 18 games... Center Chris Kelly has the hot hand for Binghamton tallying three goals and adding a helper and is a +3 in his last 5 games... The Maple Leafs lead the season series 2-0-0-0... Maple Leafs defenceman Pierre Hedin leads the St. John's attack against Binghamton with four assists in two games.

NEXT WEEK'S OPPONENT...

The Baby Leafs will visit the Toronto Road Runners (Edmonton) next Friday at the Ricoh Coliseum. The Leafs defeated Toronto 6-4 back on November 2.

St. John's will take on the Syracuse Crunch (Columbus) for the first time this season next Saturday in Syracuse. The Maple Leafs have an all-time 7-12-1 record against the Crunch.

LEAFLETS...

The Maple Leafs open a four-game homestand starting with back-to-back games against the Rochester Americans.

St. John's is 4-6-2-0 at home this season. The team's last game at home was a 3-3 tie against Grand Rapids, Nov. 22.

The Leafs are ranked 20th overall with the man-advantage and are 27th while short-handed.

The Maple Leafs are 3rd in the AHL averaging 32.70 shots for per game.

The Baby Leafs will play their last game at home of the 2003 portion of their schedule this Saturday, Dec. 13 against Binghamton.

WHO'S HOT...

Brad Leeb (LW): Has eight points including seven goals and is a +4 in his last 10 games. Leeb leads the AHL in shots on net (118).

Kyle Wellwood (C): Has the hot hand for the Baby Buds recording nine points (G,8A) and is a +2 in his last 10 games.

Maxim Kondratiev (D): Is a +5 and has six points (2G,4A) in his last 10 games. Kondratiev has eight points in 17 games this season.

Harold Druken (C): returns to the Maple Leafs lineup tonight after being reassigned from Toronto. Druken has 11 points in eight games this season.

Jeff Daw (C): Has four assists in his last five games. Daw is 3rd in team scoring with 18 points (5G,13A) in 27 games.
