Worcester IceCats News Release

WORCESTER, MA- The Worcester IceCats, in partnership with the player's wives and girlfriends, Cytyc Corporation and 104.5 WXLO, today announced that the alliance raised $20,165 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Boston Affiliate. The money was secured through the IceCats Pink Pucks Campaign.

The special Pink Pucks, which featured an IceCats logo, a pink ribbon and the text To Benefit Breast Cancer Research, were initially sold through the IceCats player's wives and girlfriends. The women chaired the sale at all IceCats October home games. WXLO then alerted their listeners to the cause with a series of motivating promotions in November.

"We could not be happier with the results of this campaign," noted IceCats Executive Vice President Kevin Cummings. "The way everyone was able to rally around the Pink Pucks Campaign and the greater cause was phenomenal."

Based in nearby Boxborough, Cytyc Corporation is committed to their mission of improving lives through innovative technologies for predicting and preventing cancer and other diseases. Similarly, the Susan G. Komen Foundation is committed to people making a difference. People who are dedicated to fighting breast cancer head-on by doing all that they can to eradicate this disease. The IceCats are pleased to join that fight.

During an upcoming game, the IceCats will bring all the parties involved together for a special center ice check presentation.
