Emery Recalled By Ottawa

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Ottawa Senators today recalled goalkeeper Ray Emery from the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Emery has appeared in 18 of the B-Sens 24 games this season, recording eight wins, seven losses and two ties for a 2.37 goals-against-average and a 91.7 save percentage. Teammate Billy Thompson has seen action in eight games and holds a 3-4-0 record.

The Hamilton native's last game was a 4-1 loss at home against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, December 6, stopping 24 of 28 shots in 57:05 of action. Emery was ejected from the contest with 2:55 remaining in regulation after engaging in a fight with Penguins goaltender Andy Chiodo with another altercation already underway on the ice.

The Binghamton Senators currently sit fourth in the East division with an 11-9-2-2 record. This week, the Senators host Manitoba Wednesday before heading to St. John's, Newfoundland, for a pair of games against the Maple Leafs Friday and Saturday.
