Texas Stars Recall Brock Montgomery from Idaho Steelheads

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey league affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that the club has recalled left wing Brock Montgomery from loan with the Idaho Steelheads, their ECHL affiliate.

Montgomery, 21, made his professional debut with Texas on October 5th against Chicago and has played in three AHL games with the Stars this season. The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native was loaned to Idaho on October 25th and has appeared in 21 ECHL games for the Steelheads, recording 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists), 11 penalty minutes and a +6 rating. Montgomery signed an AHL contract with Texas on March 30, 2013 after completing his fourth season of major junior hockey with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League. In 243 career WHL games he had 119 points (65 goals, 54 assists) and 328 penalty minutes.

The Stars will complete their three-game road trip tonight against the San Antonio Rampage at 7:30 p.m. at AT&T Center. Texas will return home to face San Antonio on Saturday, December 28th with a 7:00 p.m. face off at Cedar Park Center. Saturday's home game against the Rampage is another Texas Lottery Lucky Row Night, a Coke Zero Family Four Pack Night and is the 2014 Texas Stars Calendar Giveaway night presented by The Parking Spot.
