December 27, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release
RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the team has activated goaltender Anton Khudobin (hoo-DOH-bihn) from injured reserve and assigned him to Charlotte of the American Hockey League (AHL) for a conditioning stint. In addition, the team placed defenseman Jay Harrison on injured reserve due to a concussion suffered at Tampa Bay on Dec. 21.
Khudobin, 27, has played three games this season for the Hurricanes, going 2-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .929 save percentage. He has not appeared in game action since suffering an ankle injury on Oct. 13 against Phoenix. Born in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, Khubobin has a career NHL record of 16-5-0 with a 2.03 goals-against average and .932 save percentage in 24 games with Minnesota, Boston and Carolina.
The Hurricanes host the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at PNC Arena (7 p.m., FOX Sports Carolinas, Hurricanes Radio Network). Individual-game tickets for all Hurricanes regular-season games are on sale at the PNC Arena Box Office and via Ticketmaster.
