
Texas Stars Reassign Russ Sinkewich to Idaho

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that the club has reassigned defenseman Russ Sinkewich from the Toledo Walleye to the Idaho Steelheads, the team's ECHL affiliate.
Sinkewich, 28, has three points (1 goal, 2 assist), a +1 rating and two penalty minutes in seven games for Texas this year, including scoring his first career AHL goal on January 3rd at Charlotte. The Westlake, Ohio native also has 17 points (1 goal, 16 assists) and 39 PIMs in 33 ECHL games for the Toledo Walleye and has one assist in one AHL game for the Lake Erie Monsters. Sinkewich originally signed a professional tryout contract (PTO) with Texas on December 18th and was signed to a standard AHL contract by the Stars on January 15th.
The Stars will begin a five-game road trip by taking on the Lake Erie Monsters on Tuesday, February 25th for a 9:45 a.m. CT face off at Quicken Loans Arena. Texas will return to Cedar Park Center Saturday, March 8th to face the Charlotte Checkers with a 7:00 p.m. face off. Saturday's game is a Coke Zero Family Four Pack Night and a Texas Lottery Lucky Row Night, as well as a Stars Team Poster giveaway and there will be a post-game autograph session.
