UNIONDALE, N.Y. (February 24, 2014) - The New York Islanders announced today that forwards Mike Halmo, Anders Lee and Ryan Strome have been recalled from loan on an emergency basis from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

Halmo, 22, ranks third on the Sound Tigers in scoring with 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists) in 53 games this season. His plus-13 rating is second on the team, while his nine power-play goals are tied for first. The Islanders signed Halmo as a free agent on March 10, 2012, after the undrafted winger completed a four-year junior career with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League.

Lee, 23, has 41 points (22 goals, 19 assists) in 54 games this season with the Sound Tigers. His 22 goals lead the team and rank second among AHL rookies. The Islanders drafted Lee in the sixth round (152nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft. The Edina, MN, native appeared in two NHL games with the Islanders in 2012-13 after completing a three-year collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame. Lee scored his first NHL goal in his first game, on his first shot.

Strome, 20, leads all Sound Tigers in scoring with 49 points (13 goals, 36 assists) in 37 games. He ranks second in the AHL rookie scoring race, despite playing in 17 fewer games than the current leader. Strome represented the Sound Tigers at the 2014 AHL All-Star Weekend in St. John's, NL, winning the accuracy shooting event in the Skills Competition and scoring twice in the game the following night. The Islanders selected Strome in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft. A native of Mississauga, ON, Strome has already appeared in 15 games with the Islanders this season, scoring four points (one goal, three assists).
