
Coyotes Recall McMillan, Assign Gormley to Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Brandon McMillan and assigned defenseman Brandon Gormley to the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound McMillan has recorded 11-16-27 and 76 penalty minutes (PIM) in 46 games with the Pirates this season. He ranks fifth on the team in goals and sixth in assists. The 23-year-old native of Richmond, British Columbia has posted 11-15-26 and 40 PIM in 91 career NHL games. McMillan was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the third round (85th overall) in the 2008 Entry Draft.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Gormley has registered 6-26-32 and 26 PIM in 48 games for the Pirates this season. He ranks fourth on the team in scoring and ninth in points among all AHL defensemen. His 26 assists are second most on the Pirates. The 22-year-old native of Murray River, Prince Edward Island has appeared in 116 games with Portland in his career, totaling 11-50-61 and 70 PIM. Gormley was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (13th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.
