Hartford Wolf Pack News Release


The Wolf Pack (20-26-0-6, 46 pts.) split a pair of Northeast Division games this past week. The Pack saw third-period leads of 2-1 and 3-2 slip away Friday night in a 4-3 home loss to Bridgeport, but then pulled a third-period comeback of their own Saturday on the road against first-place Springfield. Trailing 3-1 going into the third, the Wolf Pack got third-period goals from T.J. Hensick, Marek Hrivik and Andrew Yogan to pull out a 4-3 victory.

This week:

The Wolf Pack play their first four-game week of the season, starting with a trip Tuesday night to Lewiston, Maine to meet the Portland Pirates. That game faces off at 7:00 PM, and the Wolf Pack are then home at the XL Center Friday night against Hershey (7:00) and Saturday against Portland (7:00), before returning to Lewiston Sunday for another battle with the Pirates (4:00).

Tuesday, February 25 at the Portland Pirates (Androscoggin Bank Colisee, Lewiston), 7:00 PM

- The Wolf Pack and Pirates wrap up their six-game season series with three meetings in a span of six days this week. The Pack are 2-1-0-0 in three previous encounters with Portland this year, and posted a 3-2 win in their only earlier road game of the season series, back on October 19.

- The Pirates are 19-24-2-7 for 47 points on the season and are in fifth place in the Atlantic Division, three points behind fourth-place Worcester. Portland is tied with Adirondack for 13th place in the Eastern Conference, one point up on the Wolf Pack.

- Pirate scoring leader Andy Miele (20-32-52 in 50 GP) is currently sixth in the AHL in points.

Friday, February 28 vs. the Hershey Bears at the XL Center, 7:00 PM

- At this and all Friday-night Wolf Pack home games this year, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers at the XL Center through the start of the second period, presented by Marc's Appliance Warehouse, located at 75 Prospect Ave., Hartford, CT.

- "Hawk's Nest" returns to the XL Center's Comcast Coliseum Club for this game, with Bob "Hawk" Crawford, the play-by-play voice of the Wolf Pack, conducting a Wolf Pack-themed interview from 6:00-6:20 PM. Questions and comments will be welcomed from the patrons enjoying the Comcast Coliseum Club's wide array of dining and beverage options. The Comcast Coliseum Club restaurant and bar area is open two hours prior to every Wolf Pack home game, to everyone holding a ticket to the game.

- The Bears (29-18-3-3, 64 pts.) enter the week tied with Norfolk for second place in the East Division, one point ahead of fourth-place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and six points behind division-leading Binghamton.

- Brandon Segal, who was the top goal-scorer on the Connecticut Whale squad last season (24-20-44 in 73 GP), is leading the Bears this season in both points and assists (14-24-38 in 48 GP).

- This is the second of two games between the Wolf Pack and Hershey this season. The Wolf Pack took the first matchup, 4-3, on October 25 in Hartford.

Saturday, March 1 vs. the Portland Pirates at the XL Center, 7:00 PM

- This is the Pirates' third and final visit of the season to the XL Center, and they and the Wolf Pack have split two previous meetings. The Pirates scored a 4-2 victory on October 23 and the Pack prevailed by a 4-1 count on November 27.

- Wolf Pack defensemen Stu Bickel and Aaron Johnson share the scoring lead in the Hartford-Portland season series with four assists apiece, and Andy Miele (3-0-3) and Daine Todd (0-3-3) are the Pirates' top scorers against the Pack.

Pack Tracks:

Every Wednesday night Wolf Pack home game during the 2013-14 season is a "Winning Wednesday". At all Wednesday night home games, if the Wolf Pack win, each fan receives a free ticket to the Pack's next home game (some restrictions apply, check the Wolf Pack's official website, www.hartfordwolfpack.com, for full details). The Wolf Pack's next Wednesday-night home date is March 19, when the Bridgeport Sound Tigers invade the XL Center for a 7:00 game.

At every Wolf Pack Sunday home game in 2013-14, fans can take advantage of the Wolf Pack's "Click It or Ticket Sunday Family Value Packs".
