Flames Recall Markus Granlund from Abbotsford

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled centre Markus Granlund from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

Granlund, originally a second round pick (45th overall) by the Flames in the 2011 NHL Draft, leads all Heat players with 23 goals and 21 assists for 44 points in 50 games with this season. He is currently third in AHL rookie scoring behind Curtis McKenzie (51) and Ryan Strome (49). This is his second recall this season but has yet to play an NHL game.
