In nine games since joining Springfield from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Thompson has registered five points (three goals, two assists), 20 penalty minutes and a +3 rating. The Derry, New Hampshire native totaled seven points (four goals, three assists) in 39 games with the Penguins this season. Thompson scored twice in the Falcons' 4-3 shootout win over the Manchester Monarchs Friday night.
PROUT RECALLED BY COLUMBUS
Defenseman Dalton Prout was recalled by the Columbus Blue Jackets Monday evening, returning to the team's NHL affiliate after 15 games with the Falcons. The LaSalle, Ontario native totaled three assist, 11 penalty minutes and a -2 rating with Springfield this season. In 27 games with Columbus in 2013-14, Prout has registered two assists, 33 penalty minutes and a -6 rating. He did, however, lead the Blue Jackets in 2012-13 with a +15 rating in only 28 games.

Falcons defenseman Tim Erixon is currently riding a five-game point streak, totaling six points (one goal, five assists) over that span. The former first-round draft pick leads all Springfield defensemen with 26 assists and 31 points in only 34 games played this season.
