MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled goaltender Daniel Taylor (emergency recall) from the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi today announced. In addition, the Monarchs have signed goaltender Curtis Darling to a professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Taylor, 21, has played in 23 games with the Monarchs this season, and has recorded a 13-5-2 record, four shutouts, a 2.40 goals-against-average and a .921 save-percentage (the 13 wins and four shutouts lead the team as does his 2.40 goals-against-average and .921 save-percentage). In January, the 5-foot-11, 186-pound native of Plymouth, England, was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Month after he posted a 5-0-0 record in six appearances including three shutouts. Taylor has also played in three games with Reading (ECHL), where he went 3-0-0 with a 2.64 goals-against-average and a .917 save-percentage this season.

He was originally selected by the Kings in the seventh-round (221st overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and has not played in the NHL. He will wear No. 46.

Darling, 24, most recently appeared in 26 games with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, collecting a 7-16-3 record, a 3.63 goals-against-average and a .914 save-percentage. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, also played 15 minutes in a game with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season and made four saves. Darling started the season with the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) and registered a 3-4-0 record, a 2.93 goals-against-average and a .881 save-percentage in eight games. Following three seasons at the University of Waterloo (2004-07), he played in parts of two games with the Royals during the 2006-07 season.
