Wolves Call Upon Checkers' Nightengale

Charlotte, N.C- The Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League have signed Checkers defenseman, Jared Nightingale to a Professional Tryout agreement (PTO). Also, forward Bruce Graham has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers by the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League from the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL).

Nightingale, 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, has played in 63 games for the Checkers this season scoring three goals, 11 assists for 14 points with a team high 177 penalty minutes. This is Nightingale's second call up to the AHL this season. He dressed in two games for the Wolf Pack earlier in the year acquiring four penalty minutes but no points.

Graham is a second round draft pick of the Rangers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. In 36 games with the Checkers this season, he has accumulated 11 goals, 18 assists for 29 points adding 56 penalty minutes. He has suited up for 24 games with the Wolf Pack this season acquiring one goal, five assists for six points with six penalty minutes.

The Checkers are in their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. Their next home game takes place on April 3 against the Columbia Inferno. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date.
