Peoria Rivermen News Release

It's time for the 2nd Annual Firefighters vs. Physicians charity hockey game to benefit Children's Hospital of Illinois, and it will be taking place at 2 pm on Saturday, March 5 with the Peoria Rivermen hosting the Chicago Wolves later that night.

Both Firefighter's Local 50 and the OSF Mighty Docs teams will be selling tickets to the game to benefit CHOI, and any ticket purchased through either team is also good for that night's Rivermen game. Seats are just $13 each or $25 per pair and include admission to both hockey games.

"The proceeds for everything we do at the game goes to Children's Hospital," said the Mighty Doc's John Farrell. "From t-shirt and program sales to our ticket sales, we've set a goal of raising $10,000 from this game."

Firefighter's Local 50's Joe Troglio echoes that.

"We'll be selling t-shirts and have our remote control dog and coloring books for the kids," he said. "We'd like everyone who is able to help make a difference. There will also be a 50/50 drawing and a raffle at the game as well. It's going to be a lot of fun, and we play fair, unlike the other guys."

To which Farrell replied "they lost to a bunch of soft doctors 8-4 last year! That's why they complain."

The stage has been set for the game, and you may purchase tickets either through Joe Troglio at (309) 369-0407 or John Farrell at (309) 258-2878.

Fans who already have tickets to the game and wish to make a donation may contact Farrell as well.
