Road Tripping River Rats Add Two To Roster

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that they have signed defenseman Brock Wilson to a Professional Tryout Agreement and forward Ryan Weston to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.

Wilson, 23, is in his first year of pro hockey, having been called up from the Flint Generals of the IHL. In 59 games for Flint, the St. Louis, Missouri native has 28 points (3 goals, 25 assists) and 81 penalty minutes. He began the year with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, appearing in three games before moving to Flint. Wilson (6'1", 210 lbs) played two years (2005-2007) for Division I Merrimack College of the Hockey East Conference.

Weston, 24, just completed his senior season at Division I Boston University of Hockey East. The Henniker, New Hampshire native played in 36 games for the Terriers this season, scoring eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) and adding 53 penalty minutes. Weston (6'2", 205 lbs) played four seasons for Boston University, playing in 146 career NCAA games, with 26 points (9 goals, 17 assists) and 133 penalty minutes.

In other news the River Rats have released forward Chris Blight from his PTO, returning him to the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Blight appeared in 20 games for Albany since joining the team on February 14th, recording five assists, 17 penalty minutes and a +3 rating.

The River Rats continue their stretch of road games on Friday, March 28th as they roll west on I-90 to face their intrastate rival Syracuse Crunch at 7:30 pm at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Albany's next home game is on Wednesday, April 9th against the Norfolk Admirals; a 7:00 pm face off at the Times Union Center.
