Gwinnett Stripers News Release

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Gwinnett Stripers (5-7) were shut out for the second straight game on Sunday, falling 3-0 to the Nashville Sounds (8-4) in a fast-paced pitcher's duel at Coolray Field.

Decisive Play: Sounds' first baseman Tyler White hit his second home run in as many days when he cranked a two-run blast (2) in the fourth inning off Gwinnett starter Kyle Muller (0-1) to make the score 2-0. Pablo Reyes pushed the lead to three with a homer of his own (1) to lead off the ninth inning off lefty Dylan Lee.

Key Contributors: Despite taking his first loss of the season, Muller allowed just two runs - both on White's home run - and struck out seven over 6.0 two-hit innings. Braden Shewmake, Justin Dean, and John Nogowski supplied the Stripers with their three hits on the afternoon.

Noteworthy: The game lasted just two hours and four minutes, the fastest game at Coolray Field since the Stripers defeated the Charlotte Knights 2-0 on September 2, 2018 in a brisk one hour and 58 minutes.

Next Game (Tuesday, April 19): Gwinnett at Jacksonville, 7:05 p.m. at 121 Financial Ballpark. RHP Touki Toussaint (0-0, 2.08 ERA) for the Stripers vs. RHP Max Meyer (1-0, 2.00 ERA) for the Jumbo Shrimp. Radio Broadcast: 6:50 p.m. on MyCountry993.com.

Next Home Game (Tuesday, April 26): Gwinnett vs. Norfolk, 11:05 a.m. ET at Coolray Field. Radio Broadcast: 10:50 a.m. on MyCountry993.com. Join the Stripers for a special matinee game for Education Day. Area students will take in the game in a fun and educational environment.
