
Strasburg Scheduled to Rehab with Rochester Sunday

ROCHESTER, NY - Washington Nationals right-hander and former No. 1 overall pick Stephen Strasburg is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Rochester on Sunday, May 16 against the Buffalo Bisons in Trenton, NJ.
Strasburg has been on the Major League Injured List since April 18, missing the last 24 MLB games due to right shoulder inflammation.
Strasburg is set to start the 1 p.m. affair against the Bisons. He is 0-1 with a 6.30 ERA (7 ER, 10 IP) with eight total runs allowed on nine hits and seven walks with 11 strikeouts in two starts. The 2009 top pick out of San Diego State last pitched on April 13.
The Red Wings open the 2021 home schedule against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the only trip to Frontier Field for the New York Yankees top affiliate, on Tuesday, May 18 at 7:05 p.m. The six-game series runs through Sunday, May 23. Tickets are available now at RedWingsBaseball.com.
