
Strachan Heading to AHL

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that defenseman Tyson Strachan has signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the American Hockey League's Peoria Rivermen.
Strachan was recently selected to the ECHL's National Conference All-Star team. In Tuesday night's 4-1 win over Stockton, Strachan dished out three assists and was a +3. He currently leads all Wranglers with a +17 rating and is second on the team with 68 penalty minutes in 25 games played. In those 25 games, the Melfort, SK native has two goals and seven assists for nine points. Strachan was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in Fifth Round (#137 Overall) of 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning pro, the 23-year old defenseman played the last four seasons at the Ohio State University. In four years with the Buckeyes, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound defenseman scored 13 goals and added 22 assists for 35 points in 119 collegiate games.
Las Vegas continues a six-game home stand with the Fresno Falcons on Friday, January 4th and Saturday, January 5th at 7:05 pm. The Wranglers and Falcons will also play on Tuesday, January 8th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.

The Wranglers play all 36 home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue. Pro-rated seat packages to see the Wranglers play at the Orleans Arena during the 2007-08 season are also available.
