Victoria Salmon Kings News Release

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, are set to turn up the volume and introduce 'The Noise' to Victoria hockey fans this week.

For years the discerning Salmon Kings fan has sat back in quiet contemplation as they have observed their team in relative silence - but that is coming to an end. The Victoria Salmon Kings and the Times Colonist have endorsed an official Salmon Kings' noisemaker that will increase the decibel level at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre forever.

Beginning on Thursday evening, all season ticket holders can receive their complimentary noisemaker prior to the Kings facing off against the Utah Grizzlies. Members of Victoria Rebels Football will also be on site, selling the noisemakers for $3.00 each as a fundraiser supporting youth football in the capital region.

On both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon the first 2,000 fans to arrive at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre will receive their noisemaker free of charge as the Salmon Kings square off against the Grizzlies.

Following Sunday's matinee contest, the Victoria Salmon Kings Booster Club will host the first 'Skate with the Salmon Kings' of the New Year. All fans in attendance are encouraged to join the team on the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre ice, where they can skate with their favourite players by donation to the Booster Club.

The Salmon Kings return to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this week for three games against the Utah Grizzlies. The games Thursday and Saturday night begin at 7:05 p.m., while Saturday's matinee game will start at 1:05 p.m. Call 220-7889 for tickets.
