Checkers and B2 Networks to Offer Free Broadcast as Part of 15th Anniversary Celebration
January 2, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release
CHARLOTTE, NC - As a part of the team's 15th Anniversary Celebration, the Charlotte Checkers and B2 Networks announced today that they have partnered to offer fans a special complimentary broadcast of the game against the Columbia Inferno on Jan. 11.
During the special event, the Checkers will unveil their new primary logo and will feature Checkers' director of media relations and broadcasting, Jason Shaya, calling the game between the home and away benches. The unique perspective will demonstrate what happens at ice level and the first-rate quality of the Checkers' broadcast production.
"The game feels much faster from ice level, and it should be really fun to give a play by play account of the action. What will also be interesting is to hear what the teams are saying to themselves and to each other," remarked Shaya. "This season, the games between the Checkers and the Inferno have been tremendous, and I expect nothing less than another fantastic game and broadcast next week."
In order for fans to have a chance to watch this unique broadband broadcast, they will need to visit the official website of the Charlotte Checkers, http://www.gocheckers.com, starting 10 minutes prior the game. Once on the website, fans will need to click on the special 15th Anniversary "watch now" banner ad and follow the instructions to receive one of the limited number of free links to the special broadcast. As with all Checkers broadcasts on B2 Networks, fans will need a high-speed Internet connection and a current version of Microsoft Windows Media Player to view the game. Fans that currently hold a B2 Power Play Season Pass for the Checkers or Inferno will be able to view the game as normal through their usual sign-in process.
"B2 Networks is very excited to help the Charlotte Checkers celebrate their 15th Anniversary Season with this special broadcast," stated Richard Brosal, B2 Networks executive vice president for business operations and marketing. "With two rivals playing on the 11th, it should make for a great game for fans that have not yet experienced B2 Networks to get a glimpse of the outstanding Checkers' broadcasts on our network."
The free broadcast is brought to you by Lifestyle Family Fitness and LKNfun.com.
