South Carolina Stingrays News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that the team has released forward Jeff Boulanger. Boulanger was in his fourth season with the Stingrays.

"It is always tough to let a quality hockey player go," commented Fitzsimmons. "It is especially difficult to let go of a player that has worked so hard for this organization and been a quality part of our team like Jeff."

Boulanger, a native of North Bay, Ontario was acquired by the Stingrays in February of 2002 from the Dayton Bombers. He scored 12 points in 16 games that season for the Stingrays on four goals and eight assists. The gritty winger had 16 points a year ago for the Stingrays and saw time in four playoff games. This season the U-Mass Lowell product had five points in 35 games.

The Stingrays will be home for two games this weekend. The team will host the Columbia Inferno on Friday night and the Pee Dee Pride on Saturday.
