Bakersfield Condors News Release
Las Vegas - Shawn Limpright scored twice and added an assist as the Las Vegas Wranglers handed the Bakersfield Condors a 5-1 loss at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday night.
Both teams had their opportunities in the opening period, but it was Las Vegas taking advantage with a fluke goal late in the first. Jeff Attard's shot from behind the goalline deflected off a body and past Yutaka Fukufuji for the 1-0 lead. The Condors led in shots 18-14 in the frame. Vegas had the only goal of the second period as well, as a Bakersfield turnover in their own zone led to the 2-0 Wranglers lead. Shawn Limpright nudged in his 11th of the season from the side of the net just 2:44 into the middle stanza.
Vegas scored three more times in the third period, sandwiched around Ryan Gillis' power play tally to blow the game wide open. Limpright's second of the game capped the scoring on a partial breakaway. Of the five times this season that Bakersfield has lost by four or more goals, three of them have been against Las Vegas. With Alaska's 5- 2 win in Fresno tonight, Bakersfield sits in second place four points behind the first place Aces.
The Condors return home to host the Alaska Aces on Friday, March 18th and Saturday, March 19th. On the 18th, the Condors will honor the 25th anniversary of the "Miracle on Ice" by wearing replica 1980 USA jerseys from those fateful Winter Games. As with all jersey raffle and auctions, five of the game-worn jerseys will be raffled off throughout the night and the rest will be auctioned off after the game to raise money for the Petroleum Shrine Club, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, The Big 96.5 and American Business Machines. On the 19th, 106.1 KRAB Radio presents the Oakland Raiderettes, performing during intermissions and greeting fans.
Individual tickets can be purchased at the Rabobank Arena box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season and group tickets may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
