Tuesday, March 22, 2005 Vs Greenville Grrrowl â 7:05PM North Charleston Coliseum

South Carolina will continue its quest for home ice in the playoffs as they face fourth place Greenville. The Grrrowl currently hold the edge in the season series, with a 4-2-1 mark against the Stingrays.
At the Coliseum: Two-For-Tuesday with 2-for-1 Upper Level Tickets and Hot Dogs and $2 Beer. Dodge ball tournament continues.

The Stingrays will travel to Greenville twice in their last five road games. Greenville has a home record of 17-11-1.
Saturday, March 26, 2005 Vs Charlotte Checkers â7:05PM North Charleston Coliseum

The battle for first place in the ECHL's East Division will come to a head Saturday, when the Charlotte Checkers come to town for their final visit to the Coliseum in the regular season. In six games between the two teams, the Checkers have taken 8 points (3-1-2), while the Stingrays have come away with 7 points (3-2-1).
At the Coliseum: Scout Night Featuring the Zooperstars Come see the fastest growing entertainment act in the country performing at the game.

Tuesday, March 15, 2005 â Stingrays 4, Gladiators 3
Brad Parsons' goal at 8:06 of the third period was enough to lift the Stingrays to a 4-3 victory over the Gwinnett Gladiators in front 3,305 at the North Charleston Coliseum. The win avenged a 6-3 victory by the Gladiators in Gwinnett on Sunday and improved South Carolina to 33-20-8 on the season. Gwinnett fell to 31-19-8 with the loss.
Friday, March 18, 2005 â Stingrays 4, Inferno 2
Captain Trevor Johnson scored the game winner short handed and picked up an assist as the South Carolina Stingrays extinguished the Columbia Inferno 4-2 at the Coliseum. The win improved the Stingrays to 34-20-8 and moved them four points ahead of the Inferno in the standings.
Saturday, March 19, 2005 â Stingrays 4, Pride 3 (OT)
Jonas Johansson's overtime game winner helped the Stingrays to a 4-3 victory over the Pee Dee Pride in front of 6,378 at the Coliseum.
Johansson took a pass from Mark Ardelan on the left side of the net and ripped a shot over the shoulder of Nick Boucher to help the Stingrays to a 35-20-8 record and a share of first place with the Charlotte Checkers.
The Team:
South Carolina enjoyed 3 wins this week to improve its record to 35-20-8. Saturday's win extended the Stingrays' current winning streak to 3 games. South Carolina sits in second place in the East Division with 78 points. The Rays own the 4th overall spot in the conference, two points behind the Charlotte Checkers with two games in hand. At home, the Stingrays have a record of 24-6-2, but they are 11-14-6 away from the friendly confines of the North Charleston Coliseum. The Rays special teams continue to impress, including the penalty kill, which ranks 3rd in the league at 87% with 12 short handed goals. The Rays power play is in the top three in the league now, ranked 3rd at 19.3%.
The Players:
Joe Tenute currently leads all ECHL rookies in goals (30), assists (36) and points (66). Rich Peverley is ranked sixth with 53 points on 26 goals and 27 assists. Matt Reid continues to lead the ECHL with six shorthanded markers, while Mark Ardelan leads all ECHL rearguards with 15 goals. Rookie goaltender Justin Eddy is 12-3-4 in 19 games with the Stingrays with a 2.77 GAA and a save percentage of .922%.
