LAST WEEK: Pee Dee went 1-1-1 last week with a win over Charlotte, a regulation loss against Greenville, and an overtime loss at South Carolina. The Pride are 29-30-4 on the season for 62 points, and remain in fifth place in the East Division. Pee Dee trails Greenville by nine points for the final playoff spot in the American Conference.

Thursday, March 17 v. Greenville Grrrowl 6 PRIDE 4

Greenville scored three goals in the opening 9:29 of the first period to take early control of the contest. The Pride pulled within two on a Tyler Kindle goal early in the second period. But, the Grrrowl added two more tallies in the first 4:33 of the third period to go on top 5-1. The Pride did not go quietly as the they scored three goals in an eight-minute span to pull within one with 6:35 to go in regulation. But, Pee Dee would get no closer, and Greenville scored an empty-net tally with 13 seconds left to set the final.

Friday, March 18 v. Charlotte PRIDE 3 Checkers 1

Pee Dee ended its three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Charlotte. Jan Vodrazka got the scoring started early, beating Checkers' goaltender Alex Westlund with a slap shot from the blue line. Charlotte pulled even on a Juris Stals goal at 12:49 of the opening period. The Pride went ahead for good on a Gregg Johnson tally at 13:10 of the second. Johnson set the final with an empty-netter with 17 seconds left in the third.

Saturday, March 19 @ South Carolina Stingrays 4 PRIDE 3 (OT)

Jonas Johansson's power-play goal with 30.8 seconds left in overtime lifted South Carolina over the Pride on Saturday. Darryl Green (power play), Eric Naud (shorthanded) and Gregg Johnson tallied the Pride's goals, with Johnson notching the tying score at 5:33 of the third period. Nick Boucher was excellent in net for the Pride, stopping 41 of 45 Stingray shots.

Wednesday, March 23 @ Louisiana 8:00 p.m. ET Coverage on WDAR Sunny 105.5 at 7:40

The Pride and IceGators meet for the third of four times this season. Pee Dee is 2-0-0 against Louisiana this season, winning two games in Florence by a combined score of 10-1 earlier in the season. The IceGators are 2-7-1 in their last 10 games, and enter the week with an overall record of 21-35-6 for 48 points (5th place - South Division).

Saturday, March 26 @ Texas 8:00 p.m. ET Coverage on WDAR Sunny 105.5 at 7:40

The Pride and Wildcatters meet for the final two times this season. Pee Dee is 2-0-0 against Texas this season, and is 3-1-0 all-time. The Wildcatters have won just four times on home ice this season. Overall, Texas is 12-40-10 for 34 points and is in sixth place in the South Division.

Pee Dee wraps up its South Division swing with an Easter Sunday matinee in Lafayette. The Pride are 7-4-0 all-time in the regular season against Louisiana.

PRIDE NOTES

- Gregg Johnson enters this week on an 11-game point streak, tying him with Chad Spurr for the team's longest scoring streak this season. Johnson had 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points during his streak, which is the second longest active streak in the league (Joe Tenute, SC, has scored in 13 straight).

- Johnson is fourth among ECHL rookies this season with 55 points.

- Pee Dee enters the week winless in its last 12 road games (0-11-1). The Pride's last win away from home was a 6-2 victory at Augusta on January 11. Pee Dee has scored the first goal just twice during the 12-game winless streak.

- Nick Boucher has appeared in 45 games this season, which is one game shy of the Pride team record for most appearances in a season by a goaltender. Sandy Allan holds the record of 46 games set in 1997-98. Boucher is 264 minutes shy of Allan's team record for minutes in a season (2612:18 also set in 1997-98), and is 54 saves shy of Allan's single-season saves mark (1092 in 2000-01).

JERSEY AUCTION

The Pride will hold their end-of-season jersey auction on Tuesday, April 5 at Sandy Bottoms, located at 705 S. Irby St. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for food and drink specials, and the live auction of both the black and white Pride jerseys will start at 7:00 p.m.
