Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Faceoff against K-Wings Tonight, Add Zapolski

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays battle the Kalamazoo Wings tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, MI. Catch all the action live at StingraysHockey.com. Tonight is the final meeting between the two teams this season. The Stingrays also announced today the signing of goaltender Ryan Zapolski . In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Zapolski, 25, went 2-0-0 in two games with the Gwinnett Gladiators this season earning a 2.00 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. On November 4, the Erie, Pennsylvania, native made 16 saves in a 3-2 Gladiators victory over the Stingrays. Last season, Zapolski dressed for the Wings, Toledo Walleye and Gladiators grabbing an 8-5-1 record, 2.43 GAA and .917 save percentage. Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot, 170-pound goaltender attended Mercyhurst College for four seasons earning AHA All-Second Team (2010-11) and All-Third Team (2009-10) honors.

The Stingrays continue a season-long six-game road trip tomorrow Saturday, November 10 against the Evansville IceMen in Evansville, IN at 7:15 p.m. at Ford Center and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday, November 16 against the Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m. for Salute to Heroes Night with local EMS, fire and police departments.
