Titans Gameday vs. Reading

November 9, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Titans News Release

Last Meeting

November 3, 2012 - Titans' goalie Scott Wedgewood was unconscious in stopping 24 shots, but it wasn't enough to keep Trenton from dropping its third straight - and second in a row to Reading - this time by a 2-1 count in Reading, PA.

Next Meeting

Trenton will see Reading for the fourth straight time, when they head back to the Sovereign Center on Saturday November 10, at 7:05 pm.

Something Old, Something New

Trenton has two more this weekend against Reading and hasn't yet seen its other divisional foes - Wheeling and Elmira. The Titans will see the Jackals for the first time November 16-17 in Elmira, and face the Nailers for a single in Wheeling November 28th.

DID YOU KNOW?

Marcel Noebels didn't score a point for the first time in his pro career, going scoreless in the 2-1 loss to REA.

Trenton is the only team in the East that hasn't played an OT game (AK is the only team in the West)

Trenton had its first 3-0 start at home since 2004-05

TRE is 5-0 when scoring first and 0-4 when they don't. REA is 3-0-0-1 when being first on the board.

SWEET 16...TWICE

Titans PK has a unique double-double

Entering tonight's game with Reading, the Titans may be struggling a bit to find the back of the net, but when it comes to killing off a man-advantage, they have been lights out recently.

Not only has Trenton gone a perfect 16-for-their-last-16 on the PK, they have also stopped Reading on 16 consecutive power play chances. Reading sits at 22nd in league with a very uncharacteristic 7.7 percent on the PP.

On top of that the Royals have yet to get a SHG this season, after leading the ECHL last year. With several talented players and a very aggressive PK unit of their own, one would have to think this statistic will change very soon.

But if you are going to get them on your PP, your best bet right now is at home. Reading has allowed 8 goals in 34 PK opportunities (76.5) on the road, just 15th in the league. Scoring in Reading on your PP is a whole different story, as the Royals are third in the ECHL on the PK at home at 95% (19-20).
