Loverde Signs with Manchester

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announce that defenseman Vincent LoVerde has signed a Professional Tryout Agreement with the Reign's AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs.

LoVerde, 23, has appeared in all 12 games for the Reign this season, recording 5 points (4g, 1a), tied for the league lead in goals by a defenseman. The Chicago, Ill. native is third on the team with 4 goals and fourth with 29 shots on goal.

Last year, his rookie season, LoVerde recorded 24 points (5g, 19a) in 64 games with the Reign with a team-high plus-minus rating of +13 and was named Ontario Reign Silver Skater in March 2012.

The 5-foot-11, 205-pound blueliner spent four years playing at the NCAA level with Miami University (OH). LoVerde skated in a total of 159 games with the Red Hawks, recording 36 points (6g, 30a) and an overall plus-minus rating of +67.

LoVerde is expected to start in tonight's game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers where he will face fellow Reign defenseman Jordan Hill. He will wear number five for the Monarchs.
