Elmira Jackals Announce Roster Changes

ESTERO, Fla. - November 9, 2012 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that forward Louie Caporusso has been reassigned to the club from the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators by the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. Additionally, defenseman Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel has been activated from the 21-day injured reserve and defenseman Danny New has been activated from reserve.

Caporusso comes back to Elmira after logging a goal and an assist over two games against the Wheeling Nailers on October 19 and 20. The second-year pro out of the University of Michigan has posted 17 goals and 17 assists in 31 career games with the Jackals. A third-round pick (#90 overall) by the Senators in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Caporusso has played in 16 AHL games with Binghamton.

Dieude-Fauvel, a fourth-year pro, is expected to make his season debut tonight against Florida. It will be his first game action since April 20, 2012. The Bordeaux, France native notched 14 points (3G, 11A), 57 penalty minutes, and a +3 rating in 62 games with the Jackals last season. Prior to that he played for the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League and earned 47 points (15G, 32A) and 161 penalty minutes over 120 games.

New, a rookie out of Providence College, missed Wednesday night's game with a lower-body injury. He currently leads Jackals defensemen in assists (6) and points (7). The 23 year old is under contract to the Binghamton Senators. Last season, after completing his career at Providence, he skated in two games with the AHL's Springfield Falcons and garnered three points (1G, 2A). New had 39 points (8G, 31A) 128 games for Providence College.

Additionally, today, the Jackals have placed Jimmy Martin, Brandon Blandina, and Jarrett Rush on reserve.
