Utah Grizzlies News Release

Loveland, Colorado - The Colorado Eagles took control of a 2-2 game late in the second period and defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-3 Friday night at Budweiser Events Center.

Utah took a 1-0 lead 1:12 into the first period as Kory Falite scored on the power-play as he skated up ice and fired a shot. Bryan Cameron and Nick Tuzzolino picked up assists. The Eagles came back to take a 2-1 first intermission lead with two goals 6:13 apart at 7:01 and 13:14 of the frame.

Utah tied the game at two on a shorthanded goal four minutes into the second period as Mitch Wahl and Trevor Glass fed Paul McIlveen for his fifth goal of the year. Less than three minutes later, Colorado went back to their bench to celebrate their third goal of the night. However, it was ruled that the Eagles had made contact with goaltender Andrew Engelage and the game stayed tied at two.

The Eagles took a 3-2 lead with 2:11 left in the second period on the power-play after Utah clanged a post just seconds earlier on a power-play of their own.

Colorado took control of the contest, scoring up ice off of a body 19 seconds into the third period to make the score 4-2; in what would become another ugly penalty filled third period in the three-game series.

The Eagles made it 5-2 on a delayed penalty 11:09 into the frame. Utah made it 5-3 on a Drew MacKenzie power-play goal assisted by Mark Isherwood and Kory Falite with 2:59

left in the game. The Eagles added a power-play goal with 1:07 left to make it 6-3.

Goaltender Andrew Engelage returned to the Utah lineup Friday as did veteran forward Brad Mills.

The Grizzlies continue with the Eagles Saturday in Colorado. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
