Reign Add Rookie Defenseman

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announced the signing of rookie defenseman Eric Springer.

Springer, a 23-year-old graduate of the University of Wisconsin, will make his professional debut with the Reign after a finishing a four year collegiate career last season. While at Wisconsin, he recorded 10 points (2g, 8a) and 66 penalty minutes in 84 games.

Prior to playing at the collegiate level, the Wrightstown, WI native played one season in the USHL with Sioux Falls Stampede where he led defense scoring with 31 points (8g, 23a) and led the team with 94 penalty minutes.

Reign Drops: The Ontario Reign will travel to Cow Palace for the first time this season to play the San Francisco Bulls before returning home on November 14 for State Farm's 2-for-1 Wednesday game. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. so be sure to stop by your local State Farm agency to pick up your 2-for-1 vouchers and redeem them at Citizens Business Bank Arena box office. There is a post-game player party at Boston's Gourmet Pizza immediately following the game.
