Stingers Shutout to Split Series against Mud Puppies
July 9, 2021 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Willmar Stingers News Release
Willmar, Minn. - Behind Bryce Crabb's complete game, two-hit shutout, the Minnesota Mud Puppies win 12-0 over the Stingers.
An excellent start for Crabb, whose earned run average was 12.00 coming into Friday's ballgame. He struck out six and only walked one Stinger, while inducing a lot of soft contact.
Grant Kerry was the only Stinger in the ballgame who got a hit. He went two-for-two with two singles and a walk. Drey Dirksen reached base as well on a fielder's choice.
Kellen Brothers got his first start for Willmar tonight, only pitching two innings. He allowed five earned runs, four hits, one walk and didn't strike out a batter.
Willmar looks to turn the page to Saturday, where they take on Bismarck at The Beehive. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
