Steve Macintyre Assigned; Grizzlies Add More NHL Experience

Bakersfield, California - The Utah Grizzlies have been assigned veteran forward Steve Macintyre from the Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate in Norfolk.

Macintyre comes to the Grizzlies a veteran of 625 professional games, 91 of which have been played in the NHL with Pittsburgh, Florida and Edmonton. He is the second player to be assigned to the Grizzlies with NHL experience this week as Thursday Brandon Yip with 174 NHL games with Phoenix, Colorado and Nashville joined the Grizzlies. Yip scored a goal last night in his Grizzlies debut as Utah beat Bakersfield 5-2.

Macintyre, 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds will make his Grizzlies debut tonight in Bakersfield at 8 p.m. on 1320 KFAN and ECHL.TV as Utah looks to extend their five-game unbeaten streak which currently stands at 4-0-0-1.

The Saskatchewan native has two goals and two assists and 175 penalty minutes in the NHL. He has played in 208 AHL games and 168 ECHL games and has 2,392 penalty minutes over the course of his career.

He made his NHL debut October 3, 2008 for Edmonton against Calgary.
