Alaska Aces News Release

LOVELAND, Colo. - Collin Bowman's one-timer at 3:34 helped the Colorado Eagles slip past the Alaska Aces, 5-4 in overtime before a sellout crowd of 5,289 at Budweiser Events Center on Saturday.

The Aces snapped a three-game losing streak (in regulation) and forced overtime by rallying from deficits at 2-0 and 3-1. Brendan Connolly (one goal, one assist) and Quinn Sproule (two assists) had multi-point games and Corbin Baldwin buried his first goal in an Aces uniform. Alaska's power-play also went 2-of-5 in the game.

Trent Daavettila posted his second straight three-point game (all on assists).

Daavettila set up Nathan Moon at the left post for a power play goal just 3:45 into the game and the Aces fell behind 2-0, just 1:24 later on an outnumbered attacked, finished by Brock Nixon's feed to Greg Gardner at the right post.

The Aces got back into the game on Baldwin's blast, a one-timer from the right point at 1:32 of the first period for a 2-1 deficit, set up by Sproule's cross-ice feed. Jordan Kwas' fourth goal of the season put Colorado ahead, 3-1 at 2:27 but the Aces responded with back-to-back goals in a span of 3:17.

Raphael Bussieres stashed a rebound under the crossbar, from the right circle at 6:39 for a 3-2 deficit and Brad Cole jumped into the play to sneak his fourth goal of the year past Craig Saunders for a 3-3 tie at 9:56.

Brett Kulak's second chance blast from the left circle put Colorado in front, 4-3 at 11:27 of the second period and the Aces continued to battle in search of the equalizer. Then, with Nathan Moon off for a tripping penalty, they earned their chance for another power play goal.

Chris Francis and Corey Syvret worked the puck around the perimeter, eventually onto Connolly's tape for a one-timed power play goal at 12:23 of the third period for a 4-4 draw.

Connolly then nearly buried a Colorado turnover just 12 seconds into overtime, but the

Eagles grabbed the second point on Bowman's one-timer inside the blueline, set up by Daavettila at 3:34.

Lundstrom stopped 39 shots and took the loss.
