Stockton Thunder News Release

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have been loaned defenseman Austin Levi by the Carolina Hurricanes after a stint in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers.

Levi, 22, returns to Stockton after skating in 4 games with the Checkers. He was held pointless during his time with the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate after being called up on New Year's Eve.

Levi began the season with the Florida Everblades but after three games he was recalled on loan and reassigned to the Thunder as part of a trade that sent the rights to Corey Trivino back to the Everblades. The Aurora, Colorado native played 23 games with the Thunder where he earned 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) and put up 17 penalty minutes.

Teddy Bear Toss is coming up soon for the Thunder as fans will be invited to bring stuffed animals to the game on January 24 and once the Thunder score their first goal, are asked to toss them out onto the ice where they will be distributed to children in need. For tickets to the game call (209) 373-1500 or visit StocktonThunder.com.
