Steelheads weekly update
December 5, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
BOISE, Idaho - For the first time this year, the Steelheads have fallen from atop the West Division and are beginning the week tied for second-place. The Alaska Aces have won their last eight games and, in doing so, have overtaken the Steelheads by three points. Idaho will have a chance to battle back this week as they embark on a three-game home stand against the Victoria Salmon Kings beginning Wednesday night.
OF NOTE:
Doors to Qwest Arena will open at 5:00 pm on Wednesday as the NHL's Stanley Cup will be on display as part of a 20-city ECHL tour to help raise money and awareness for the hurricane relief efforts - two ECHL teams suspended play this year because of the devastation caused by the hurricanes (Mississippi and Texas). Fans will be admitted into Qwest Arena with a game ticket and be able to have their picture taken with the Stanley Cup and make a voluntary donation to the ECHL/United Way Hurricane Relief Fund.
The Cup arrives in Boise on Wednesday afternoon and will be making a surprise visit to a local organization before it makes its way to Qwest Arena.
