ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades finished the past week with a 2-1-0 record. The 'Blades enter this week with a record of 11-6-0 (22 pts., 2nd, South Division.)

Friday, December 9 vs. Pensacola Ice Pilots 7:30 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades meet the Pensacola Ice Pilots for the first time this season on Friday night at Germain Arena. The game is the first of 12 between the South Division rivals and the first of six at Germain Arena. Last season the Everblades finished with a 3-2-3 record vs. the Ice Pilots, including going 1-1-2 at Germain. Last year, four of the eight games between the teams went to overtime or a shootout. The Ice Pilots enter this week's action with a record of 8-9-2 (18 pts., T-7th South Division) and are 6-3-1 in the last 10. On the road, Pensacola is 3-3-2. Florida holds an all-time record of 25-11-9 vs. Pensacola and is 16-8-2 all-time vs. the Ice Pilots at home.

Saturday, December 10 vs. Augusta Lynx 7:30 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades the Lynx meet for the third of nine times on the season and the third of four times at Germain Arena on Saturday night. The 'Blades swept a weekend series from the Lynx at Germain Arena on Nov. 4 & 5 to lead the season series 2-0-0. Florida picked up a 3-2 regulation win on Nov. 4 and then earned a 4-3 shootout victory the next night. The Everblades skate against the Lynx three times in their next eight games. Augusta enter this week's action with a record of 8-9-2 (18 pts., T-7th South Division) and are 4-6-2 in the last 10. On the road, the Lynx are 3-5-2. Florida holds an all-time record of 34-10-6 vs. Augusta and is 20-4-3 all-time at Germain Arena vs. the Lynx. PROMOTION: 8th Annual "Teddy Bear Toss"

Tuesday, November 29 at South Carolina 3-2 L

The Everblades saw their two-game winning streak come to and end with a 3-2 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays on Tuesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, SC. With the decision, the Everblades saw their second longest road trip of the season end with a 3-3-0 record.

Despite two third period goals, the Everblades couldn't overcome falling behind early after the Stingrays collected two first period goals and increasing their lead to 3-0 at 15:59 of the second period. In the final period, the Everblades battled back with a pair of goals to cut the South Carolina lead to one. Nick Vukovic tallied the first Florida goal at 8:06 and Paul Cabana took advantage of a late power play to cut the Stingrays lead to one with 36 seconds remaining. In goal, Phil Osaer saw his personal five-game winning streak come to an end after allowing three goals on 22 shots to fall to 5-2-0. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-3; PK: 2-for-3. The Everblades lead the season series 2-1-0.

Friday, December 2 vs. Gwinnett 6-4 W

The Everblades won their seventh straight home game with the help of two goals in the final 4.2 seconds of the second period to knock off the Gwinnett Gladiators 6-4 on Friday night at Germain Arena. After the Everblades squandered a 3-0 lead to allow Gwinnett to tie the game at four midway through the second period, Kevin Bergin and Paul Cabana set an Everblades franchise record and tied and ECHL record by scoring 3 seconds apart at the end of the frame to grab the momentum back. Bergin's goal with 4.2 seconds left in the period was his third of the night and came with the Everblades on the power play after a 5-minute major was given to Gwinnett's Adam Smyth for spearing. On the ensuing face-off, Cabana skated down the right wing and blasted a shot past Gwinnett goaltender Sean Fields just as the period expired. The game started strong for the Everblades picking up a pair of first period goals by John Ronan and Bergin. Less than a minute into the second period Bergin notched his second goal of the night giving the Everblades a seemingly comfortable 3-0 lead. In goal, Craig Kowalski picked up the win for the Everblades stopping 21 of 25 Gwinnett shots bringing his record to 5-4-0. Florida Special Teams: PP: 3-for-7; PK: 3-for-5.

Saturday, December 3 vs. Gwinnett 5-2 W

The Everblades upended the Gwinnett Gladiators 5-2 on Saturday night at Germain Arena to win their eighth straight home game. After a scoreless first period, The Everblades found the back of the net 6:31 into the second period when Paul Cabana notched his 8th goal of the season. The lead was short-lived however as the Gladiators tallied just 30 seconds later at 7:01. Florida took the lead for good when Bogdan Rudenko scored the first of his two goals with 4:36 remaining in the period. Leading by one entering the third period, the 'Blades exploded for three goals in the first 12 minutes of the third period to take a 5-1 advantage. Rudenko's second goal of the night came 4:37 into the final period giving the 'Blades a two-goal lead and Chris Lee opened a three-goal advantage for Florida when he notched his third goal of the season at 10:09. Jonathan Lehun finished the scoring for the Everblades when a pass bounced off his body and trickled across the goal line for a power play goal at 11:54. In net Phil Osaer increased his record to 6-2-0 after turning away 31 of 33 Gwinnett shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-3; PK: 4-for-4. With the weekend sweep, the Everblades are now 2-2-0 vs. Gwinnett this season.

ECHL Weekly Award Nominee: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Kevin Bergin. The 24-year-old picked up four points (3g, 1a) in three games this past week, with all three goals coming on Dec. 3 vs. Gwinnett.

Teddy Bear Toss!: The Everblades will be holding their 8th annual "Teddy Bear Toss" on Saturday, December 10 when they host the Augusta Lynx at 7:30 p.m. All fans who attend the game are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped stuffed toy with them. When the Everblades score their first goal of the game the fans will be asked to toss their toy onto the ice. All the stuffed toys collected during the Teddy Bear Toss will be donated to area South West Florida charities. A large portion of the toys that are collected will be donated to Toys-for-Tots and the Children's Advocacy Center of Collier County. In addition, a portion of the toys will be hand delivered by Everblades players to kids at the Children's Hospital of South West Florida. Over the previous seven years, Everblades fans have donated over 27,000 stuffed toys for SW Florida charities.

Record Setting Night: In the Everblades 6-4 win over the Gwinnett Gladiators on Dec. 2, the Everblades set two franchise records and tied an all-time ECHL record. Florida's first franchise record set was the combination of eight goals scored by the two teams in one period when the teams each scored four times in the second period. The 'Blades also set a franchise record and matched an ECHL record with the fastest two goals when Kevin Bergin and Paul Cabana scored 3.2 seconds apart at the end of the second period.

Bicentennial Night: With the Everblades 5-2 win over the Gwinnett Gladiators on Dec. 3 at Germain Arena, Everblades head coach Gerry Fleming picked up his 200th career win as a head coach. Fleming's coaching career began in the ECHL with one season in Tallahassee where he earned 38 wins for the Tiger Sharks. 2005-06 is Fleming's fifth behind the Everblades bench where he has helped guide the 'Blades to at least 35 wins and the playoffs in each of the previous four seasons.

Approaching Milestones: Here's a look at members of the Everblades that are approaching career milestones: F Ernie Hartlieb is 12 games shy of playing in his 300th career game and is 24 points away from reaching the 200 mark as a pro...F Reggie Berg is 41 games away from reaching the 300 mark in his career and is 47 points shy of 300 in his career...D Ryan Brindley is 33 points away from reaching 300 in his professional career...F Kevin Bergin is seven goals away from reaching 50 in his career...F Phil Aucoin is 16 points from reaching the 100 mark.

Home Sweet Home: The Everblades find themselves one win shy of tying a franchise record for consecutive wins at home. With their 5-2 win over the Gladiators on Saturday night, the 'Blades have won eight straight at Germain Arena. The previous record of nine was set during the 1999-2000 season.
